Peaceful and intimate neoclassical piano

Welcome to my website – I am Roger Evernden, a contemporary neoclassical composer and pianist, based in the UK.

I write slow, thoughtful, meditative piano compositions – inspired by the important people in my life, and by the emotions and events that affect us all.

I am a founding member of the Contemporary Classical Collective (CCC) an informal group of spirited musicians, dedicated to a sub-genre of contemporary classical music that variously goes under the label of neo-classical or indie-classical. The musicians in this group are united by their passion for an increasingly popular musical style that is minimalistic, independent, and often collaborative. Influences on this genre are far and wide, from the subtle harmonies of Erik Satie and Claude Debussy, to the ambient music of Brian Eno, or the gentle tones of Nils Frahm and Ludovico Einaudi.

The latest album Ebb and Flow – released in January 2023. [18 songs. 44 min 33 sec]

Life ebbs and flows – sometimes it’s good, and sometimes not; sometimes we’re happy, sometimes sad. This album reflects these patterns in life, and my personal ebb and flow from a seaside town in Kent to the Ashdown Forest near East Grinstead.
